Cult Nails Fairy Tale Collection!

This past Saturday I attended another wonderful Central FL Beauty Blogger event (which I'll post about later on) and Maria, of Cult Nails, was nice enough to provide us all with the entire Fairy Tale Collection!! I actually helped her put these together the night before and she let me take mine home early!!

I was so excited I couldn't stand it because I really loved the pics I saw of this collection and the polishes are even prettier in person....wanna see what I mean??

Here is the adorable little bags that she gave us the polishes in! Maria is really big on presentation and I love that.

The Cult Nails Fairy Tale Collection L to R: Happy Ending, Charming, Princess, Feelin' Froggy, and Evil Queen

Two coats of Feelin' Froggy. Maria describes this as a kelly green with metallic green shimmer. I found that it was slightly on the sheer-er side, but I got this nice opacity in two coats. Depending on how you apply your polish, you may have to do three coats.

As I've admitted before, I'm not a huge green fan, but I can totally hang with this green! The shimmer really does it for me and it seems to have some blue undertones in it, which makes this green a winner for me!

Here is one coat of Happy Ending over Feelin' Froggy. Happy Ending is an amazing multi-colored shredded flake glitter in a clear base. The colors in this glitter top coat are kind of pastel-like. It's really unique and it pairs so well with every color in this collection!
Sorry about the glare in these pics with Happy Ending...for some reason the light was not playing well with my camera.

Three coats of Charming. This is a sheer purple with metallic purple shimmer. You can actually layer this color over other things, but it also builds really nicely on it's own. I really liked this color because it seemed to have a pretty glow to it.

One coat of Happy Ending over Charming. This is the manicure I wore to the meetup!

(Charming is not color accurate in this photo, the photo above is what it really looks like)

Here's a picture of my mani and a ring I won in a little giveaway that Cristina from Let Them Have Polish did. It's a nail polish ring that she made herself! I love that it matched my nails! Thanks again Cristina :)

Two coats of Evil Queen. This is my unexpected favorite of the collection! This is a gorgeous red creme with some slightly pink undertones to it. This color just oozes sex appeal! And isn't the name perfect?!

Happy Ending over Evil Queen. I loved Happy Ending over Evil Queen the best. It was so festive.

Two coats of Princess. This is a pretty sky blue (slightly dusty with some gray in it) that has some subtle copper shimmer in it! The shimmer didn't want to show in any of the pictures I took, but if you look really closely at the bottle you can see it a tiny bit. It's in there I promise! This one was my second favorite of the collection. I'm just a sucker for blue polish.

Princess with one coat of Happy Ending.

The Fairy Tale Collection will be available for presale on the Cult Nails website starting Saturday, May 26th and will run til Saturday, June 2nd. When ordering during presale you order the collection as a whole for a reduced price of $40 (so it's like getting one polish free).  The collection will become available for sale for individual colors starting June 15th and each color becomes the normal price of $10 per polish. Check out Maria's blog post to see additional photos/information.

Thank you so much Maria for providing us all with the whole collection!

Blast from the past!

About a year ago, after I started following tons of blogs, I began trying different nail art techniques and along the way I would snap photos on my phone.

Today I want to share those photos...the quality on most of them kind of suck because they were taken with my Iphone and some of them don't have great lighting.

Here was my first attempt ever at a tape manicure. I was inspired to try this from reading the blog Chloe's Nails.  Look how short my nails were!! lol

My first leopard print manicure ever! I was so proud of this! I still am too lol. I wore these nails when I went to the Lil' Wayne concert back in April 2011

First time playing with a dotting tool! My mom LOVED these nails.

I did these right after I received my BundleMonster stamping plates. This was my first attempt and I was so thrilled that I was able to work them lol.

Feather nails! My best friend and I bought some feathers at Michael's and then literally spent hours doing this. Saddest part was, they felt so gross on our nails, we both removed them the next day haha! They sure did look cool though!

It's hard to tell but I have microbeads on my ring finger to create an accent nail. I did these right after I bought a crap load of microbeads at Michael's. I need to attempt those "Caviar" nails sometime soon!

My Fourth of July 2011 mani! I did these before my boyfriend and I left for our cruise on the 4th last year.

Another leopard print, but with some different colors!

Did these for a UCF football game last fall...I used microbeads to create the letters. These were awesome.

Another manicure inspired by Chloe's Nails.  I remember it took me SO LONG to do these lol. I kept screwing up.

Another funky french inspired by Chloe's Nails.  That cute little fimo slice stayed on for about 1.5 seconds lol.

One of my Xmas manicures from last year.

This is the mani that I wore on Christmas day. This is one of my favorite manicures that I've ever done!

These were inspired by some nails that Scrangie did. I wasn't overly pleased with how mine turned out, but they were ok.

My halloween nails! I used some Kiss nail art stickers for these nails. These are another one of my manicures that will always remain a favorite!

These were fun! I forget who said it, but one of my friends referred to these nails as "Katy Perry nails" lol so that's what I think of everytime I see this picture.

Nails I did for this past Valentine's day. I free-handed the hearts.

Cloud nails I did inspired by NailSide's tutorial.  This girl does some AMAZING nail art.

Neon yellow half moons! These looked pretty badass!

Looking back at the really old pictures I feel so proud of how far I've come with my ability to paint my nails and keeping my nails nice! I used to bite my nails sooo bad and sooo short and stopped when I become obsessed with the blog world.

Hope you guys enjoyed my little blast from the past! Are there any of these manicures/techniques that you'd like to see me replicate and post on here??

Or do any of you have any recommendations of some nail art techniques that I should try?

Let me know!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommas out there!

My mom is one of my best friends and I really don't know what I would do without her, this post is dedicated to her today <3

My boyfriend and I took her to breakfast this morning and in a little bit we are leaving to take her to dinner also! It's been a day of laziness and eating, my favorite type of day lol!

So, onto my nails:

I found a new display of Maybelline's at Wal-Mart a week or so ago and I came home with only one! There were so many new and pretty colors on this display, but I felt I had a lot of the same type of colors at home already...so I was choosy.

I started with two coats of Maybelline Denim Dash. This picture was taken without top coat.

As you can see it dries with a satin/matte finish.

Next, I did one coat of Nubar 2010 on each nail and then on my ring finger I did one thick coat of China Glaze Luxe & Lush!

2010 and Luxe & Lush are kind of similar, except Luxe & Lush has bigger pieces.

I really don't want to take this mani off! I'm in love with it. First of all, blue is my favorite color of polish to wear. And, second of all, the flake glitter make it so awesome looking!!! I'm head over heels lol!

Well I hope everyone is enjoying their Mother's Day and thanks to all the Mom's out there for doing what you do :) !

Soft Shade Love!

I used the rest of my OPI NYC Ballet collection! And I paired them with some really pretty glitters...wanna see?! OK!

OPI Barre My Soul sandwiched with Sally Hansen Jewel Overcoat Ring-a-Ding!

I started with three coats of Barre my Soul and then one coat of Ring-a-Ding and topped it off with another coat of Barre my Soul. Everytime I look at my nails they remind me of cotton candy. I love this look!

Ring-a-Ding is gold, copper, and rose colored hex glitter! I almost didn't buy it because I thought it was just another gold hex glitter, but I took a closer look and saw the three different shades. It's really pretty!

OPI You Callin' Me a Lyre? with Spoiled Jewelry Heist on top.

I did four coats of YCMAL first and then topped it with one coat of Jewelry Heist.
So, the first one reminded me of cotton candy and this one reminded me of cupcakes lol I think maybe I think about food too often haha!

Just like Ring-a-Ding, I almost passed Jewelry Heist up also. Then someone on instagram posted a mani with it and I was like, I need this polish! lol

OPI Care to Danse? with Sally Hansen Jewel Overcoat White Veil on top!

Care to Danse? took five coats to be opaque and then I did one coat of White Veil.  These OPIs dry fairly quickly so it really doesn't bug me that they need a lot of coats. I'm in love with them!

This combo was so elegant!

Any of you into the Jewel Overcoats and soft shades like I am?!

Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr!

Hi again! Really quick I just wanted to let everyone know that I am on Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr.

I have not yet figured out a way to add the little icons on the side of my blog to show everyone that  I use these sites...so in the meantime I figured I would just make a post!

I did, however, figure out how to add a tab at the top to redirect you to my tumblr.

Here's how you can find me on all three:

Tumblr. : http://alyssanoel1219.tumblr.com/

I still need to make a Facebook page, but I haven't gotten around to doing that yet :P

Zebra fail? Nope!

Hey! Long time no see! Sorry about that, I've been busy just trying to relax before my summer class starts next week, BUT I've still been doing my nails of course....just not posting them lol silly me.

Anyways, I have an almost fail nail art mani today, but it ended up looking pretty darn cool!

Here's how it started off! I grabbed five colors from my Color Club Starry Temptress set that I got from Ross last summer. From pinky to thumb: Other Worldly, You Got Soul-ar, Wink, Wink, Twinkle, Glitter Envy, and Space Case.

Annd here's how it ended up lol! I started off wanting to do zebra print and when that wasn't successful, I just started making random lines...and then I decided to border the whole nail!

It's definitely a strange design, but cool nonetheless!

It's fun to just play around sometimes and it's nice when it turns into something unique! The whole time I was doing them I just kept thinking, "this is going to be a mess" but I was pleasantly surprised!

So what do you guys think?!

Have any of you ever started off trying to create one thing and then you get a whole different result?? Did you like your final result, or hate it?

Target Beauty Bag

My Target Beauty Bag arrived last Friday!!! The way I received this was by liking them on Facebook and then from the link they provided I signed up to receive one! I'm not sure if it's still going on, but it's worth a minute of your time to go try!

Here's the box it came in!

The bag itself...

Take a peek inside and see all the goodies!

A sample pack of the new Simple facial wipes

Sample of the new(?) Loreal primer

A sample of some Neutrogena cleanser

Pantene sample

ANDD finally a sample of some Nivea Lotion!

Such a cute bag and nice little goodies! It also came with some Target coupons for cosmetic items such as $2 off Revlon cosmetics (which I already used on a lip butter lol) and a $1 off the Nivea lotion (which I think my mom already used) !

I really think its nice that Target does this every year! I'm excited that I got one and I can't wait to use the samples :)
