Spreadin' the love Sundays!

I'm showin' love for my Aunt Jodie today! I actually call my Aunt Jodie, Nana. Weird, I know lol! It all started because she used a cane one week when her ankle was hurting her and it's been Nana ever since. You guys will soon realize that I have a nickname for everyone and anything haha!

Anyways, Nana loves nails and nail polish ALMOST as much as I do. And just recently I got her into nail art. One night when I was coming over for dinner she told me to bring my nail stuff so that I could give her "striped nails." Also around this time the Orlando Magic were still playing in the playoffs, so she decided she wanted Orlando Magic themed nails for good luck!

Here's what we came up with:

I started by painting her pinky and thumb nails with Milani Black Swift and the rest of her nails I painted OPI Blue my Mind. Then I used my silver, white, and black striping polishes to create the designs!

This pic is a little blurry, but it showcases each nail a little better.

Ever since I did her nails like this, she has really been into nail art! She wanted stripes and polka dots on another night, but I didn't bring any of my tools. I got the grand idea to try and use a toothpick and her nails turned out freaking terrible! LOL When it came to doing the polkadots...the toothpick created a really pointy blob on her nail. So we kept going on and on about how I gave her nipples on her nails. My family and I have very inappropriate senses of humor lol.

Anways, she sent me this picture of her nails the other day on Facebook:

OMG right?! I was so proud of her! I guess she went to Sally's and bought a striping brush and did these nails all by herself! They're beautiful. Looks like she'll be doing my nails now :)

I love when my family joins in on my obsession! Go Nana, keep doing that nail art!!

Spreadin' the love Sundays!

Today's love goes to my new kitty, Marvin :)

So I did a kitty inspired manicure!

I started with three coats of Hot Ticket Dodge a Bullet. It's a really cool dark grey with silver/blue/pink shimmer. It kind of reminds me of SpaRitual Sacred Ground. I chose this as the base because its a nice dark grey like Marvin's fur!

Here's the final mani! For the accent nail I stamped with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and used Bundle Monster Plate BM04. I topped the rest of the nails with the new Sally Hansen Jewel Overcoat in Multi-Faceted.

The new jewel overcoats are awesome. I love this one espcially because it not only has that cool opaque black glitter, it also has some cool opaly blue glitter!

Spreadin' the love Sundays!

I was sad that I missed this post last weekend so I made sure I had one put together for today!

Today I want to show some love to my oldest and best friend, Missy.  We have been best friends since we were in preschool. No matter how long we go without seeing each other, we both know we're always there for each other! As I also mentioned in my very first post she's the one who introduced me to this nail blogging world :)

When thinking of what reminded me of Missy, nail polish wise, I instantly thought of gold nail polish. Once when we were shopping she said to me, "I want to buy all the gold nail polishes in the world!" lol

So here are a few gold nail polishes I own that I thought she'd like :)

Orly Glitz. This two coats.

Sephora by OPI Rumba Romance. Three coats.

Hot Ticket Goldfinger. two coats.

Sally Hansen Gilty Pleasure (one of Missy's favs!). Two coats.

Milani Signature Gold. two coats.

Spreadin' the love Sundays!

Ok everyone, I had the idea that every Sunday I am going to do a post about someone I love! It'll either be a friend of mine or a family member, and I am going to somehow relate it to nail polish! Like maybe I'll post a color that reminds me of them or a design!

For my first Spreadin' the love Sunday I decided to write about my cousin that  I mentioned yesterday, Brynn. She is two years older than me and we are super close! We are oddly alike in the way we act and think. When we're together we get on everyone's nerves because we are super obnoxious, but I love it <3

Anyways, Brynn has been obsessed with the color "mustard yellow" for awhile now and yesterday she mentioned an AWESOME nail idea. She said she wanted to paint all of her nails gray except for her ring fingers and then paint her ring fingers mustard yellow! So after we were done laying by the pool we went to Sally's to hunt for the perfect yellow. We found Nina Ultra Pro Like Butta! It was perfect.

Now, not only do these nails feature Brynn's fav color at the moment, they incorporate one of her fav nail polishes! Zoya Dove! As far as nails go, these are beyond perfect at representing what reminds me of Brynn!

Another plus to these nails are that they match her favorite pair of Toms :)

We both used two coats of Dove and three coats of Like Butta. Like Butta wasn't too streaky, but it wasn't surprising that we need three coats because yellows are usually finicky like that. I also adore the name of this polish because of the reference to Saturday Night Live.

I hope all of you like this new feature I'll be doing, I'm really excited about it!
