Valentine's Day Nails--Day 12

This V-day mani pertains to what a lot of girls want for Valentine's Day--diamonds!!!!

What I used:

OPI Alpine Snow matte (1 coat)

Nicole by OPI It's All About the Glam (1 coat)

Sephora by OPI Flurry Up! (2 coats)

Sally Hansen Presto Pewter stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM-09

Valentine's Day Nails--Day 7

Ok, I know I said yesterday's nails were my favorite so far, but I really love these nails A LOT, too!

                                                             

How to achieve this look:

-Start with 4 coats of OPI Don't Touch my Tutu! on each nail

-Stamp over middle and ring finger with Wet n Wild Black Creme using Bundle Monster plate BM-311

-Use 1 to 2 coats of Sally Hansen White Veil on index and pinky finger

Orly Right Amount of Evil with OPI and Cult Nails

Back when I bought Lightmare, I also picked up Orly Right Amount of Evil!

 

 

For this mani I did three coats of OPI Nicole Alert! on all my nails except for my ring finger. My ring finger is one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore. Then I did one coat of Orly Right Amount of Evil on top of each nail.

Right Amount of Evil is holographic hex and fine bar glitter all packed in an orangey clear base that has tons of orangey pink shimmer lol did I lose you there? Yea, it's kind of a lot to describe in one polish.

The only thing I'm disappointed by is that I was under the impression that the hex glitter was orange. But it's just the illusion of the bottle. All in all, though, I really like this glitter polish and what can I say, I'm a sucker for themes!

OPI Care to Danse? sandwiched with Ulta Indigo-go Girl

Hi!! You guys have probably noticed my blog got a little makeover! Thanks to my friend Steph, from Imperfectly Painted, I learned how to change my blog template and everything. Took me long enough, right?! For now I'm really happy with how it turned out, but it's not something I want to keep forever. One day I'd like to design a really cool Header and kind of create a signature look just for Pretty Little Bottles!

 

 

Anyways, today's post is a mani I did a few weeks ago and for some reason never got around to posting it!

 

 

I started with 3 coats of OPI Care to Danse? Then I did one coat of Ulta Indigo-go Girl and finished it off with another coat of Care to Danse?.

Indigo-go Girl is a really pretty, fine indigo glitter that also has very small indigo hex glitter.

I really enjoyed this combo! In a way, it reminded me of Lynnderella Nosegay.  

 

 

OPI Pink of Hearts 2012

This past Monday I went to Ulta after my class to hunt for this new set by OPI. I was very disappointed when I couldn't find it! I was just about to say "Oh well" when I decided I'd ask a sales clerk just for the heck of it. I really didn't expect them to even know what I was talking about, because that's happened to me in the past, but the sweet girl I happened to ask said, "Oh, the new one with the pretty glitter?!" I was like "yes that one!" She smiled wide and said, "Do you want it really badly?" I then smiled and said, "yes please!" She said, "Ok, they're in the back still boxed up, give me a sec and I'll get it for you!" Oh my god, I wanted to hug this girl! I love when sales clerks are super helpful and sweet like that! So, thanks to her, I brought home these two pretties!

 

The OPI Pink of Hearts set for 2012 consists of a pink glitter with fuschia hex glitter (You Glitter be Good to me) and a pink creme (I Think in Pink). I bought it for $14.95 at Ulta!

 

For this mani, I did 3 coats of I Think in Pink on each nail and then I did an accent nail with one coat of You Glitter be good to Me on my ring finger.

 

I Think in Pink is a semi-sheer polish. I woudn't call it a jelly, but it did have a sheer-er consistency. It's really a beautiful pink polish! I mainly bought this set only for the glitter, but then I was pleasantly surprised about how much I loved the creme as well!

 

 

I love how the caps have the breast cancer ribbons on them! It's great that OPI has a breast cancer awareness set each year, this is the first year I have bought one!

Realistic giraffe stamping

As promised, here is my take on realistic giraffe print nails!!

Here's what I used:

L to R: OPI Bronzed to Perfection, Spoiled by Wet n Wild Designated Driver, Milani Dark Coffee 

I started with one coat of Bronzed to Perfection and then sponged on Designated Driver until I was satisfied with the color of the base. I used Dark Coffee for the stamp with Bundle Monster plate BM-215.

Yay giraffe nails!!!

I can't decide if I like these or the snake skin nails better?! They both turned out perfect!

These nails make me want to go visit the zoo near where I live and feed the giraffes!

It's so awesome how close they get and you can pet them! I just love giraffes!

Soft Shade Love!

I used the rest of my OPI NYC Ballet collection! And I paired them with some really pretty glitters...wanna see?! OK!

OPI Barre My Soul sandwiched with Sally Hansen Jewel Overcoat Ring-a-Ding!

I started with three coats of Barre my Soul and then one coat of Ring-a-Ding and topped it off with another coat of Barre my Soul. Everytime I look at my nails they remind me of cotton candy. I love this look!

Ring-a-Ding is gold, copper, and rose colored hex glitter! I almost didn't buy it because I thought it was just another gold hex glitter, but I took a closer look and saw the three different shades. It's really pretty!

OPI You Callin' Me a Lyre? with Spoiled Jewelry Heist on top.

I did four coats of YCMAL first and then topped it with one coat of Jewelry Heist.

So, the first one reminded me of cotton candy and this one reminded me of cupcakes lol I think maybe I think about food too often haha!

Just like Ring-a-Ding, I almost passed Jewelry Heist up also. Then someone on instagram posted a mani with it and I was like, I need this polish! lol

OPI Care to Danse? with Sally Hansen Jewel Overcoat White Veil on top!

Care to Danse? took five coats to be opaque and then I did one coat of White Veil.  These OPIs dry fairly quickly so it really doesn't bug me that they need a lot of coats. I'm in love with them!

This combo was so elegant!

Any of you into the Jewel Overcoats and soft shades like I am?!

Busy, Busy!

I have two tests this week in school so I apologize for my lack of posting :(
Until about May my posts on here probably won't be very steady...I'll just post when I have time!

I've had a chance to use two of the OPIs that I received here! I am really loving these colors. I just love how soft they look and the glitter is awesome.

This is four coats of My Pointe Exactly with one coat of Pirouette My Whistle on top.

Let me tell you, I have been so obsessed with Pirouette My Whistle!! It is so unique...the hex glitters are like this milky/silvery type color and its just so cool.

This is four coats of Don't Touch My Tutu! with one coat of Pirouette My Whistle on top.

The glitter over Don't touch my tutu doesn't stand out as much as it does over the gray one, but it still creates a really pretty effect.

So far I am not disappointed by this collection! Even though they take quite a few coats, dry time between coats is pretty fast so it hasn't been bothering me.

Even if you hate softshades with a passion, at least give Pirouette My Whistle a try...I feel like it's a must have!!!

Is anyone else loving these OPIs like I am?!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to anyone that celebrates it! For me, it's just a day to get together and have fun with my family! I did some themed nails to show you guys today AND it's my first attempt at water marbling!!!

I only water marbled my ring fingers as accent nails because I figured it'd be wayyyy too time consuming to do every single nail. The polishes I used were: OPI Do you lilac it?, OPI Mod about you, China Glaze For Audrey, China Glaze Re-fresh mint, and then I topped everything off with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

I like how this accent nail (above) turned out the best!

I really love this manicure! It's so colorful and fun!

Even though I liked how these nails turned out, water marbling is no joke lol It was time consuming and VERY messy. I will definitely sit down and try it again sometime, though, because I want to get good at it and maybe do all ten fingers!

Short, but sweet!

I just wanted to quickly show you guys the nail mail I've been anxiously waiting to use! About a week ago, I ordered the entire OPI NYC Ballet Collection! I don't think I have ever bought an entire collection before, but for some reason I really felt I needed this one. I've been loving soft shades lately, plus the glitter that comes with these is super unique, in my opinion, PLUS they're all jellies!

They were packaged really well, plus they got here really quickly!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm not Irish, that I know of, but it's always fun to have a reason to celebrate AND do themed nails of course :) I spent the day laying out by the pool and drinking "champagne punch" with my cousin Brynn! It was such a nice day. Here are my festive nails:

The polishes I used were OPI Alpine Snow-Matte, Revlon Posh (green), and on top of the two white nails I put Sinful Colors Green Ocean! For the little clovers I used some nail stickers that I got at Sally's a long time ago. I really like how these turned out!

After Brynn and I were done laying out by her pool we went to Sally's and bought some new nail polish...I'll post the nails we did tomorrow :) I hope everyone has had a good St. Patrick's Day and has a fun night tonight also!
