Cult Nails Cruisin' Nude topped with Charlatan

Last Saturday, I posted a manicure I did while I was at the Cult Nail's photoshoot for their new Deceptive Collection. I thought today would be the perfect day to post the details about those nails becase the preview pricing event for the new collection starts tomorrow!!

I started with two coats of Cruisin' Nude and then added one coat of Charlatan. Charlatan is one of the new top coats from the Deceptive Collection and it is what I'm holding above. This top coat is freaking amazing.

Then I added gold studs to turn it up a notch!

(I got this photo from the Cult Nails website)

You can purchase the gold studs that I used for this manicure from the Cult Nails Website, under Nail Art Supplies. The above picture is what they look like and how they are packaged.

While at the photoshoot I got a turn in front of the camera to showcase my nails. This picture was taken by Maria's husband, John. He is such a talented photographer! Maria edited this photo on PicMonkey and holy crap did she make me look flawless. Don't be fooled, I am really not this perfect in real life. Before the edits on this photo it was super evident I was having major acne issues. And I'm not talking one pimple on my forehead, I mean all over my face acne. (Maybe I'll discuss that issue in another post, but not today lol)

So, do you guys want more info on the Deceptive Collection?? Preview pricing starts tomorrow, September 1st, through September 8th. This means the whole set of 5 top coats will be $40! Starting September 9th they will be available for individual sale at $10 per bottle. They are all limited edition polishes!

If you'd like to see swatches of the 5 top coats I suggest you go to the Cult Nails blog. I also have a post that shows swatches of the polishes, check it out here.

Avon Aqua Fantasy

A quick post and some simple nail art for you guys tonight! I'm super tired from spending my evening at Chuck E Cheese. That's correct, I said Chuck E Cheese. LOL! A close family friend of mine had his 52nd birthday today, and his friend decided to throw him a surprise party at Chuck E Cheese with a few close friends.

I had never been when I was little so I have to admit, I was super excited right off the bat. I am definitely a little kid at heart. Did I play the games, you ask? You bet your sweet ass I did! I mostly played Ski Ball and my mom whooped me at Air Hockey haha! One of the close friends that attended had a ten year old son and so all of the tickets everyone won tonight went to him. He got over 700 tickets to cash in at the end and it was so fun to see him so excited.

It has definitely been a great night and it also reminded me that you're never too old to do anything, no matter how silly it may seem!

Anyways! Onto the nails...

I started with one coat of Orly Dazzle and then waited for it to fully dry. Then I placed a piece of striping tape down the side of my nail and painted on a semi-thick coat of Avon Aqua Fantasy and removed the tape.

Aqua Fantasy is one of those blues that can be grouped in with the "Tiffany" blue polishes, like China Glaze For Audrey, etc. The thing that makes this polish slightly unique is that it had a pretty silver sheen to it. Not in a frosty sort of way, I would describe it as a pearly finish. It's super pretty!

I hope everyone has had as fun of a night as I have! See you in my next post :)

China Glaze I Herd That

China Glaze I Herd That is the only polish I grabbed from the On Safari collection. It's not that I didn't like the others, I just didn't feel compelled to buy any of them, except this gorgeous glitter.

I Herd That. Opaque in two coats. It's a gold glitter polish with flecks of red glitter and lots of holo glitter as well!

Here's a blurred pic to really show the holo glitter. So pretty!

Another slightly blurred picture

I really love the coppery-ness to this polish. It's not just straight up gold, it's got some depth to it. It dried slightly gritty, but I added a coat of Gelous and then finished it off with Cult Nails Wicked Fast and it was completely smooth and super shiny.

Did you guys pick this one up? What are some of your other favorites from the collection?

Dots, Dots, Dots!

Today's nails I did a while back, you'll notice in the pics that my nails are my old square shape. For some reason I never posted them! So, here they are today :)

I started with two coats of Cult Nails Manipulative

Then I did some random dots with Milani Orchidia

Next came dots of Nicole by OPI Others Pale by Kim-parison and Milani Beach Front.
The Beach Front dots aren't very noticeable.

Lastly, I added dots of Milani Mint Candy and Orly Dazzle!

I really loved the randomness of these nails and I want to try more designs like this with different color combos!

Nails Inc. Pudding Lane plus Nail Art!

So, I am still obsessed with these Nails Inc. Sprinkles polishes. I decided to wear Pudding Lane the other day, but I decided I'd like to spruce it up with an accent nail.

I started by doing two coats of Pudding Lane on each nail except for my ring fingers. For those that don't know, Pudding Lane is a beautiful bright blue creme polish jam packed with deep indigo and lime green glitter, it's amazing.

Then I painted each ring finger with two coats of Avon Speed Dry in Lime Splatter. This polish is new from Avon for fall!

Lastly, I stamped over Lime Splatter with Sally Hansen Insta dri in Co-Bolt Blue. I used Bundle Monster plate BM-221.

I actually love this mani more in my pictures than I loved having it on my fingers. I hate when that happens lol!

Layla Soft Touch 06 Limoncello and Ninja Polish Sticks n Stones

After my friend, Maria, of Cult Nails, came back from CosmoProf in Vegas she let me play with some of the goodies that she brought home! I was most intrigued by this new polish from Layla's Soft Touch line.

Layla Soft Touch 06 Limoncello. Two coats. It dried with a matte-ish finish, but not super super matte.

Here's a slightly blurred pic to show how it glows/shimmers!

Among the goodies I knew I also had to use Ninja Polish Sticks n Stones! I have later bought my own bottle of this because I love it so much!

It looked so badass over this beautiful lime green!

Thanks again, Maria, for letting me play :) !

Eva Supreme #185 and Cult Nails Untamed

Happy Wednesday! This week seems to just be zipping by for me! Anyone else feel that way?
Anyways, the main polish I'm featuring today, Eva Supreme #185, was a gift from my friend and fellow Central FL Beauty Blogger, Steph from Imperfectly Painted! And, boy, is it a stunner!

Eva Supreme #185 is a beautiful purpley blue with intense pink shimmer. And it was just begging to be paired with Cult Nails Untamed. This combination just makes my heart sing!

At the time that I did these nails I had just received my free hello kitty stamping plate from the Born Pretty Store. The plate number is M71. They give away a certain number of these daily, how awesome is that?! I literally paid nothing for it.
My stamp didn't transfer flawlessy because I was just doing it quickly, but it's really cute regardless!

If you're wondering where to purchase Eva Supreme polishes, I'm sorry to say that I don't really know where to locate them. I've literally only seen them in two Walgreens. None of the polishes have actual names either, just numbers. Hopefully some of you get lucky and spot them somewhere, and for the love of god, if you come across #185...BUY IT.

Revlon Sparkle Aplenty

Last Friday I stopped at Walgreens to grab some milk because my mom and I were out at our house. Well, as we all know, a trip to Walgreens, regardless of what we're picking up, means we all have to check out all the beauty stuff..am I right?

Well, I was just about to walk to the register because I thought I didn't see anything good and then a new Revlon display caught my eye. It was a brand new display full of a polish called Sparkle Aplenty.

I almost died because it was so cool. It's a black jelly with silver and black microglitter, plus silver and black hex glitter!! WIN!

Here is three coats of Sparkle Aplenty. If you click to enlarge the photos you can see the black hex glitter better, but unfortunately it's hard to see unless you look closely. I want to try and layer this polish over a white or grey to see if the black stands out better!
For my ring finger I used a black creme as a base and stamped it with Bundle Monster plate BM-322. The silver polish that I used to stamp was Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. (my favorite polish to stamp with!)
Sparkle Aplenty is seriously awesome. I suggest you run to Walgreens right away and get one...or two! :)

Back to School: Accounting Nails!

Today was the first day of my last semester of college! I can't even begin to describe how excited I am that I'm almost done with my Bachelor's degree and I really can't believe I've made it all the way to the end!
You may have noticed in my "about me" that I mention that I am majoring in Accounting. So, for my back to school nails I wanted to do something inspired by accounting..what better to choose than money and numbers!

Here's what I came up with:

Cult Nails Feelin' Froggy stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM-311

Feelin' Froggy was the "money" part of this mani. It was the best green I had to depict the color of money and I have to say, I freaking love it! Of course, the numbers part is obvious here...this image plate was the first thing I thought of when I decided to try and do accounting inspired nails!

When I texted these nails to my boyfriend he replied with, "They remind me of the Riddler!" lol!
For those that don't know, the Riddler is an enemy of Batman and was played by Jim Carey in the old Batman movie.

*I got this picture from google images

He was pretty close! Instead of numbers, Riddler has questions marks. I wonder if I have an image plate with that?? I feel like I do!

Anyways, these nails are really fun and I really enjoyed looking at them all day. They made my first day just a little brighter :)

A First Look at The New Cult Nails Deceptive Top Coat Collection!

*I have edited the title of this post, since at the time it was posted the collection didn't have a definite name yet. The title now includes the name of the collection. The contents of the post are still the same.

I am so incredibly excited to show you guys a first look at the new Cult Nails collection that is coming out sometime in September!! Currently, the collection doesn't have an official name, Maria said she is still undecided on what to call it. This collection contains 5 layering polishes, or "toppers," that you can use to transform any creme polish into something spectacular! Each polish contains so much gorgeous, kind of complex, shimmer that it was kind of hard to capture each of these on camera. Please take my word for it that these all look wayyy prettier in person than they do in my pictures!

L to R: Doppleganger, Deception, Charlatan, Two Timer, Alter Ego

*I have swatched all of these over Cult Nails Nevermore, which is a plain black creme*

Thumb to Pinky: Doppleganger, Deception, Charlatan, Two Timer, Alter Ego

Here are some close-ups of each nail:

Doppleganger: This is a white jelly packed with green, purple, and copper shimmer. This color is so complex, I really don't even know if my description does it justice! And my pictures for sure don't because the shimmer is best seen with the naked eye.

Deception: this polish is so packed with purple and pink shimmer that when layered over a creme it gives off a beautiful purple sheen. Although, suble, it's really pretty and elegant looking!

Charlatan: This one is truly the winner of the collection. It has chunky multi chrome shimmer that flashes blue, purple, and pink. It's freaking AMAZING!!! Literally, this polish is a must have.

Two Timer: This one is loaded with green shimmer, so when layered it gives an awesome green sheen!

Alter Ego: this one is full of copper shimmer and when layered the effect is subtle, but it gives a lovely golden/coppery look!

As of right now, I don't have an actual date that this collection will be released. It should be sometime in September! The second I know the details of the collection, like the pricing and the date it will be released, I will definitely post about it here on my blog! Meanwhile, keep a look out on the Cult Nail's blog for Maria's swatches of the collection and the Cult Nail's Facebook Page for any information that Maria might post!

*These polishes were given to me by Cult Nails for review
