Zebra fail? Nope!

Hey! Long time no see! Sorry about that, I've been busy just trying to relax before my summer class starts next week, BUT I've still been doing my nails of course....just not posting them lol silly me.

Anyways, I have an almost fail nail art mani today, but it ended up looking pretty darn cool!

Here's how it started off! I grabbed five colors from my Color Club Starry Temptress set that I got from Ross last summer. From pinky to thumb: Other Worldly, You Got Soul-ar, Wink, Wink, Twinkle, Glitter Envy, and Space Case.

Annd here's how it ended up lol! I started off wanting to do zebra print and when that wasn't successful, I just started making random lines...and then I decided to border the whole nail!

It's definitely a strange design, but cool nonetheless!

It's fun to just play around sometimes and it's nice when it turns into something unique! The whole time I was doing them I just kept thinking, "this is going to be a mess" but I was pleasantly surprised!

So what do you guys think?!

Have any of you ever started off trying to create one thing and then you get a whole different result?? Did you like your final result, or hate it?

Target Beauty Bag

My Target Beauty Bag arrived last Friday!!! The way I received this was by liking them on Facebook and then from the link they provided I signed up to receive one! I'm not sure if it's still going on, but it's worth a minute of your time to go try!

Here's the box it came in!

The bag itself...

Take a peek inside and see all the goodies!

A sample pack of the new Simple facial wipes

Sample of the new(?) Loreal primer

A sample of some Neutrogena cleanser

Pantene sample

ANDD finally a sample of some Nivea Lotion!

Such a cute bag and nice little goodies! It also came with some Target coupons for cosmetic items such as $2 off Revlon cosmetics (which I already used on a lip butter lol) and a $1 off the Nivea lotion (which I think my mom already used) !

I really think its nice that Target does this every year! I'm excited that I got one and I can't wait to use the samples :)

Milani Madness Part 3!

More Milani polishes comin' at ya! And today it's all about the glitter! Today I'm going to show you the new one coat glitters and the jewel fx glitters!

This is Milani Jewel FX Teal over Milani Yellow Whiz.

I just did one coat of the glitter. It has fine blue glitter as well as green and blue hex glitter. I love this combo!

Here is Milani Jewel FX Red over Milani Jiffy Orange. This is one coat.

This is just red hex glitter. I can't wait to use this for the holidays! I want to try and cover a whole accent nail with this...it would look so awesome!

Milani Jewel FX Fuchsia over Milani Violet Dash. One coat!

This has fuchsia hex glitter as well as fine fuchsia glitter. I loved how the two purple colors contrasted against each other. It was subtle yet stood out!

Milani Jewel FX Hot Pink over Milani Fast Fuchsia. One coat!

Hot Pink is kind of like Teal except Hot Pink doesn't have any fine glitter and the two hex glitter colors are silver and hot pink! There are actually a few pieces of holo hex glitter as well! I want to try and cover a whole nail with this one also. That would look so pretty with the two different glitter colors!

Milani One Coat Glitter in Lavender Fizz. In one coat I still had a few bald spots so I did another one and it was perfect!! This was my favorite of the three one coat glitters I got.

It was so sparkly!!

This one coat glitter is called Pink Flare. This is fine pink and holo glitter pieces! Same as Lavender Fizz, it took me two coats.

Ok, so, maybe this one is actually my favorite?? lol I can't decide! I kept wanting to call this one Barbie Pink or something lol Its so girly and cute.

Here's a blurred pic to see the pretty holo glitter!

Milani One coat Glitter in Twinkle. This one actually wasn't as dense as the other two and I had to use two coats. From looking at these pics, I maybe should have done one more to cover those patches.

This is small blue and purple rounded glitter. I love the mix of the blue and purple!!

Whew! That was a lot of pictures lol I don't think I'll ever get tired of looking at glitter though! These are all additions to Milani's existing glitter lines and they can be purchased here!

Which ones are your favorites?? Have you tried any of the other One Coat Glitters or Jewel Fx??

*These products were provided for me by Milani Cosmetics for review.

Inspired by Algae Veronica!

This past weekend I finally decided I wanted to recreate an awesome manicure that I saw a long time ago on tumblr by Algae Veronica at lotsafingerpaints. Her designs are amazing and I'd honestly love to recreate ALL of them, but I started with this one. I didn't mimick exactly what she did, but mine matches hers for the most part.

Isn't it cute?! I was in love with this manicure!

Here are the polishes I used: Milani White on the Spot, Color Clup Poptastic, an old Sally Hansen white striper polish that I've had for ages (it came in a french manicure kit), and a black striper polish that I got at the Dollar Tree!

The two large rhinestones are from these rhinestone sheets from Avon. You can purchase them on my site here.

And the smaller rhinestones are from this wheel that I got from Sally's!

Here is the picture of Algae Veronica's design that I used as inspiration:
Beautiful right?! Her's is like 100 times better! I love how she did rhinestones on each nail...I didn't have the patience for that lol!

This manicure was pretty simple for the most part! My only problem was keeping a steady hand when it came to doing my right hand.

Go like Algae Veronica on Facebook and watch some of her awesome nail tutorials on YouTube!! She is really talented and I love how she uses such bright and fun colors in all of her designs!

Striping fun!

Now that finals are over, I actually have time to play around with nail art and try new things! Here is a fun manicure that I did the other night:

TADA! I'm so proud of them lol

After I did them I realized they could be worn to a UCF game because its all UCF colors! Go Knights!

Here's what I used: Avon matte in Black as night as my base, Sally Hansen Jewel Overcoat in White Veil, and striper polishes in white and gold! I accidentally included my black striper polish in this picture even though I didn't use it for this mani. :P

This was a really fun mani to do and I enjoyed sporting it lol! I'm like obsessed with playing with the striper polishes now so expect more striped nail art in the future!!

What kind of nail art are you guys loving lately?!

Toxic Seaweed!

I finally used my Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed the other day!

This is two coats.  Toxic Seaweed is a beautiful teal/dark green jelly with copper flakes and lots of glitter!

So gorgeous.  These nails distracted me because I would stare at them while I was trying to study for finals lol!

This one was taken in the shade.

Toxic Seaweed was a Limited Edition color by Cult Nails that came out with their "Let's Get Nekkid" Collection and is now unfortunately sold out :(
If you missed out, don't worry because Maria is always coming out with amazing colors, so I'm sure there will be something just as great in the future :)

Turning a loser into a winner!

So, Sunday night I was on my way home from dinner with my boyfriend and  I decided to stop in Walgreens to see if they had anything new. I was excited to see that they had the new Revlon display out and then I was even more excited to see this beautiful aqua jelly polish. I scooped it right up and didn't buy any of the others.

Revlon Sheer Seafoam. Doesn't it seem amazing?!

While watching Mad Men that night I decided to try it! WELL, it was a complete flop of a color. Just look at what I mean:

This is one coat of Sheer Seafoam. Can you see anything besides my gross staining?! Yea, me either! Now, I know jellies are supposed to be sheer, but this went on legit CLEAR.

So, I kept trying...I was determined to get the color of what it looked like in the bottle. Well, this is three coats...still nothing even close to what a jelly should look like lol.

Having been super disappointed that this color didn't turn out as pretty as I had imagined it would be, I decided to turn this mani into some kind of layering experiment!

So I grabbed Revlon Just Tinted in Desire and Icing After Party!

Here are my final results:

Pretty awesome right?! This is my first time doing a "jelly sandwich." For those of you that dont know, it's when you layer a sheer polish (jelly) with glitter, to make it look like the glitter is sandwiched between the layers of polish.

To achieve this look I did sooo many layers of polish lol EIGHT to be exact. Here are the layers in order:

3 coats of Sheer Seafoam
1 coat of After Party
1 coat of Sheer Seafoam
1 coat of Desire
1 coat of After Party
1 coat of Desire

This manicure would have taken days to dry even with a nice quick dry top coat, so shortly after these pictures were taken I had fun peeling it all off in sheets lol.

Damn you Sheer Seafoam for looking so beautiful in the bottle!

I contemplated whether I should take it back after I did that first coat and then I just decided it'd be fun to keep to try different layering experiments or maybe franken with. Revlon could have had such a huge win with this polish had it been more pigmented and buildable. Oh well!
