Nails Inc. Sweets Way

From the second I saw the promo for the Nails Inc. Sprinkles collection, I knew I was going to have to buy them all! I purchased mine from Sephora's website and they finally arrived a few days ago! These are my first Nails Inc. polishes, ever, and I couldn't have started with a better collection, in my opinion!

The first one I decided to try was Sweets Way:

Sweets way is blue, pink, and silver glitter all jam packed in a creamy, white base. I used three thin coats to reach opacity.

How amazing does this look?! I'm in love.

One of the cutest parts about this polish is the little cupcake sticker on the bottle.

I am just dying over these polishes and I can't wait to show you the other three from the collection!

Bundle Monster plate BM-301

Almost a year ago I bought Bundle Monster's first set of plates. I really liked them, but I didn't use them that often. Then they came out with a second set and I saw even more designs that I liked. Now, just recently, they have launched a new set of plates and, again, I was getting that itch to want to try them. So, a few weeks ago, I bit the bullet and purchased the second and third set of plates!! I couldn't be happier with my purchase! I am going to be a stamping machine these next few weeks!

Here is the very first image I knew I was going to use the second I purchased them. This image comes from the BM-301 plate.

I started with two coats of Cult Nails Deal With It and the black polish that I used to stamp was Wet n Wild Black Creme.

The stamp worked flawlessly and I just love how it turned out!
These would be great nails around halloween time!

Have you guys ever used Bundle Monster? What do you think?

80's Earrings nail art #1

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! This past weekend I went through and cleaned out my closets and I came across a box of old earrings that my Mom used to wear in the 80's. One of my first thoughts as I was looking through them was, "Oh my god, these would be awesome nail art inspiration!"

So, I picked out all the pairs that spoke to me and now I'll be featuring the nail art inspired by them here on my blog over the next few weeks! Fun right?!

This is the first pair that kind of "spoke" to me. I loved that they were triangle!

I started by using two coats of Others Pale by Kim-parison as my base.

To make the triangles I used my striping tape that I bought off ebay.

Then I painted one coat of Orly Glitz over the tape and removed the tape before the polish dried.

I continued to do that on all of my nails, one by one.

To complete the look of these nails I used my striping brush and painted some irregular ovals in the middle, just like the earrings have.

These were so fun to do and I can't wait to continue to show you guys the other earrings and nail art!! Judging by the ones I picked out from the box, my Mom was quite the fashionista!

L.A. Girl Matte Rose

The other day I was in need of a quick polish change so I went after a matte polish because they always dry the quickest!

I came across this L.A. Girl Matte polish that I hadn't used yet, so I went with it! I picked out this polish in a swap box from a Central FL Beauty Blogger meetup that I went to in March. I forget whose swap box I got it out of though :/

I'm going to venture to guess that this L.A. Girl was purchased at a Forever 21 because it's only labeled as "magenta." I looked at swatches of the pink L.A. Girl Mattes online and the closest match to mine was the color named Rose, therefore I'll call mine Rose.

This polish went on so smoothly! That is sometimes rare with matte and suede polishes, but this one was flawless! I only needed two coats.

I'm so glad that I decided to bring this one home with me at the meetup because it was a pleasant surprise.

My first guest post!

To wrap up "Avon Week" I'm very excited to announce that I did a guest post for Jessica over at Nail Polish Anonymous!

Please go check it out because the two polishes that I'm featuring in the guest post help raise money for Avon foundations that donate money to ending breast cancer and preventing violence against women!

Thanks everybody and I hope you have enjoyed Avon Week! :)

Avon Coral Reef

Coral Reef is just what it's name says, coral! This coral creme has a strong pink influence. In my opinion, it screams summer, not in the neon-in-your-face kind of summer, but in the vacation getaway kind of summer. (if that makes any sense lol)

It applied so nicely and only took two coats.

I went through my glitter polish box and decided this SpaRitual polish would go lovely on top of Coral Reef.

This SpaRitual polish is called Clarity. It's a rosy pink glitter.

If you are interested in Coral Reef and/or checking out the other Nailwear Pro+ colors that Avon has to offer, please check out my online Avon Shop by clicking here or clicking the tab at the top of my page!
At full price the full size bottles cost $6, but Avon is currently running a 2 for $6.99 sale!

Avon Cosmic Blue and Lagoon

I have some really pretty, shimmery blues to show you today!

First up:

Cosmic Blue! This is a dark cobalt blue with lots of dark blue shimmer. It was a little on the sheer side, so I needed three coats for full opacity. Cosmic Blue came out with the new Nailwear Pro+ polishes.

Here is Lagoon. This is a beautiful ice blue loaded with ice blue shimmer. In my opinion, Lagoon isn't anything special in the bottle, but on the nail...wow! Like Cosmic Blue this one was on the sheer side, so three coats were needed as well.

You'll notice that this is a mini bottle. As I mentioned above, I didn't think Lagoon would be all that great so I only ordered the mini version. Now I am kicking myself for not buying a full sized bottle! It's cool that Avon offers the mini sizes, because if you're unsure about a polish it's nice to be able to give it a sort of "test run."

Here's a better shot of the bottle so that you can see the size of it.

After swatching Lagoon, I decided to wear it as a full manicure. After I painted all my nails, I decided to spruce it up a bit with Hot Ticket Disco Ball! I love how the silver glitter looks with the icy blue.

This is a pic out of the light so you can see the pieces of glitter better.

If you are interested in purchasing Cosmic Blue, Lagoon, and/or checking out the other Nailwear Pro+ colors that Avon has to offer, please check out my online Avon Shop by clicking here or clicking the tab at the top of my page!
At full price the full size bottles cost $6, but Avon is currently running a 2 for $6.99 sale!
The mini Nailwear Pros are only a $1.99, but not every color is offered in the mini size.

Avon Noir Emerald

Continuing with Avon Week, I have another Avon Nailwear Pro+ color today!

Noir Emerald is a dark emerald green with a heavy blue influence. It is packed with gorgeous shimmer. It only took two coats to become completely opaque. I really like this color! I'll love wearing this color in the fall!

At full price they cost $6, but Avon is currently running a 2 for $6.99 sale!

Avon Matte polishes

I hesitated about posting these polishes for Avon Week because they are, unfortunately, no longer being carried by Avon at the moment. I'm sure they will make a comeback in the future, because Avon seems to do that with their products, but for now they aren't being sold :/  I've seen them pop up randomly in the outlet books though, so it might be hit or miss!

Anyways, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to post them anyways because they are too pretty to not be featured!

Avon Matte in Violetta. This is a beauitful deep purple matte polish. It goes on fairly smoothly with only miminal dragging if you mess with it too much (which I seem to always do lol). It was opaque in almost one coat, but I ended up doing two.

The magic in Violetta truly comes out when you add a shiny topcoat. After you do this, you can see that Violetta has purple and subtle red shimmer. It's gorgeous!

Avon Matte in Red Velvet. This is a deep red that just screams fall. Same formula as Violetta and same number of coats.

(please excuse the small bubble on my middle finger, I globbed on my topcoat hastily and it caused this)

Again, adding a shiny topcoat really makes this one a stunner. All of the gold shimmer that is packed in this polish really shines after adding topcoat.

I REALLY love these Matte polishes that Avon came out with last fall. I'm so hoping they come out with other Matte colors this fall! I also have a plain black and plain gray matte polish from Avon, but Red Velvet and Violetta are the clear winners in this collection.

I absolutely love a Matte polish that looks great being matte, but is even prettier shiny. It makes for a great versatile polish.

What do you all think about Matte polishes, in general? Love or hate?

Avon Decadence

So, I have decided that this will be "Avon Week" here at Pretty Little Bottles and to continue with yesterday's theme, I have another Nailwear Pro+ color to show you guys!

Today's color is a rich purple, appropriately named, Decadence.

Decadence is a red based purple with purple, blue, and a hint of orange shimmer. Please click the photos for a closeup look at the polish and you'll see what I mean! At first glance this polish isn't really anything special, but when you take a closer look, you can see all of the shimmer and realize it's kind of unique.

Decadence was fully opaque in two coats. Dry time was average; not super fast, but not snail slow!

Like the other Nailwear Pro polishes I have, formula was great and the brushes are easy to use.

If you are interested in purchasing Decadence and/or checking out the other Nailwear Pro+ colors that Avon has to offer, please check out my online Avon Shop by clicking here or clicking the tab at the top of my page!

At full price they cost $6, but Avon is currently running a 2 for $6.99 sale!

I hope you guys will enjoy Avon Week! Personally, I don't ever see a lot of Avon polishes being featured on many blogs, so I like that my posts will be something different to offer you guys!

Avon Jade

As I've mentioned before, I'm an Avon Representative, so you know when Avon released 45 new nail shades I was all over it!

Some of these colors are actually re-releases from a long time ago, but I'm ok with that because that means if you've missed them before, now you have a chance to buy them again! Avon also re-vamped their nailwear pro formula and it's now called nailwear pro+. I must admit, I don't really see a difference in formulas between my old nailwear pros and my new nailwear pro+'s, but I do love Avon's formula regardless, so it's really a moot point.

Today I'm showing you the new re-released Avon Jade. From what I can see by searching the internet and looking at other people's swatches from the past, the new Jade and the old Jade are the same exact color.

Jade was perfectly opaque in two coats.  It's a slightly dusty, mint green that has a lovely spring feel to it. I'm surprisingly in love with this color!

Can I be random for one sec and say that I'm really loving my oval nails!! Yay!

After I swatched this polish I decided to do some nail art! So here are my half moons I did using Jade and Hot Ticket Goldfinger (click here for a full swatch of Goldfinger) .

I absolutely love gold paired with pretty pastel/spring colors! Plus I loved how the halfmoons looked with my newly rounded nails. I have tried this look in the past when my nails were square and I definitely prefer half moons on my nails when they're like this.

To achieve this look, I first painted two coats of Goldfinger and let it dry completely. Then I used circular paper reinforcement stickers to block off the part that I wanted to be rounded. You can buy these at any office supply store and probably even Wal-Mart. After placing the stickers, I painted a thick coat of Jade and removed the sticker before the polish dried. (If you wait too long the sticker will pull up some of the polish with it and ruin the effect)

If you are interested in purchasing Jade and/or checking out the other Nailwear Pro+ colors that Avon has to offer, please check out my online Avon Shop by clicking here or clicking the tab at the top of my page!

The Nailwear Pro+ polishes retail at $6 fully priced, but Avon is all the time running deals. Right now they are 2 for $6.99.

Keep checking back here this week for more Avon swatches! :)
